  • They discover the dead body of one of Gundren’s brothers
  • They start searching for the Black Spider while clearing out the cave

Session

  • The party makes its way to the ruined town of Thundertree to deliver a message to the druid Reidoth.
  • They deal with the many threats that face them in the ruined town, including a young green dragon and a band of cultists

  • Deliver message to Reidoth the Druid: 500 xp

Session 8 - Lost Mine of Phandelver (Part 7) - Around Conyberry

Session

  • Sister Agathe asks the party to deal with a Banshee, north of the ruined town of Conyberry
  • Elections are held at the town of Phandelver. Thyr Blackmoor is elected as townmaster.
  • The party makes its way to Neverwinter and return the sword Talon to its rightful owner. In return, they receive the deed to the ruined mansion in Phandalin.

  • Sister Agathe’s Task (Banshee): 300 xp
  • Become Mayor of Phandelin: 450 xp
  • Return Talon to its rightful owner: 300 xp

Session

  • The party makes its way to Wyvern Tor to deal with a band of orcs that have been robbing people travelling the Triboar Trail.
  • They discover and eradicate the band of orcs

  • Defeated drunk Ogre: 350 xp
  • Defeated 6 drunk Orcs: 6 × 75 = 450 xp

Session

  • After hearing about a sighting of undead, the party decided to check out the Old Owl Well, and eradicate this evil
  • They find and destroy a necromancer accompanied by a throng of zombies

  • Investigate Old Owl Well: 200 xp
  • Defeat evil wizard: 200 xp
  • Defeated 12 zombies: 12 × 50 = 600 xp
  • Bonus xp for not using the tactic “shoot first, ask questions later”: 200 xp (i.e. first talking to the wizard)

Session

  • The party discovered the location of Cragmaw Castle
  • After carefully scouting the castle, they made their way inside stealthily and started taking out goblin guards
  • They disposed of the Cragmaw leaders, a bugbear named King Grol and a doppleganger posing as a dark elf

Session 4 - Lost Mine of Phandelver (Part 3) - Redbrand Hideout

Session

  • The party confronted the Redbrand thugs harassing Phandalin town and tracked the leader down to the ruin of the mansion in town. They disposed of the Redbrands and found out Gundren was taken to a place called Cragmaw Castle.
  • They also dealt with the corrupt townmaster who was turning a blind eye to what the Redbrands were doing in Phandalin.

  • 9 Redbrand Ruffians: 900 xp
  • 2 Bugbears: 400 xp
  • 1 Nothic: 450 xp
  • Avoid the animated skeletons: 100 xp
  • Avoiding the pit trap: 100 xp

  • The party delivered the recovered stolen goods to their rightful owners, with a promise of collecting what was left in the cave.

Session 2 - Lost Mine of Phandelver (Part 1) - Cragmaw Goblin Hideout

Before the Session

The Session

  • The Brotherhood of the Silver Flame contacted the characters with an invitation to join. The Brotherhood stands for the conservation of magic for Good and the eradication of evil. The Brotherhood follows Mystra, so most of its members are followers.
  • The party was given a task: Go to Phandalin, meet with a contact in the Stonehill Inn. Contact name: Lyinar Baeleavan
  • The party contacted the guild of mercenaries, looking for a contract that would lead them to Phandalin. This way they could make some money during their travel. Gundren Stoneseeker (dwarf) and Sildar Hallwinter (human) needed an escort to Phandalin.
  • Gundren and Sildar went ahead and left the party to take their trade goods to Phandalin.
  • Route: High Road, turn left onto the Triboar Trail, then right to Phandalin
  • On the road, they came across a burning cart. A robbery had taken place and they recognized the horses of Gundren and Sildar. At this point, they were attacked by goblins.
  • After killing the ambusers, they followed a trail to a cave that served as the base of operations for ambushes.
  • Klarg the Bugbear leads the goblins. Before taking care of him, the party learns that he worked for someone named “The Black Spider”. The assignment was to ambush Gundren and capture him. The Black Spider has already come and collected the hostage and has taken him to Cragmaw Castle. Sildar is rescued, alive but wounded.
  • During the final battle, the party is rescued by a Dire wolf, which turns out to be Lyinar Baeleavan, their contact that was following them in secret.
  • Lyinar is in charge of finding the map to Wave Echo Cave, an old mine that has been lost centuries ago.

Experience Points

  • Arrive at Cragmaw Hideout: 150 xp
  • Goblins: 11 * 50 = 550 xp
  • Wolves: 3 * 50 = 150 xp
  • Klarg: 200 xp
  • Clear out Cragmaw Hideout: 450 xp

Total: 300 + 450 = 750 XP
